Gov Uzodinma commence mass housing scheme in Imo

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has said plans are in place to begin Mass Housing Scheme in the state. The governor said the program will being in Imo North and spread to the other two zones of the state. 

Uzodinma made the statement when traditional rulers in Imo North senatorial district, paid him a solidarity visit. The monarchs also informed the governor of the lands mapped out for the project. 

The governor said, “This government will remain real. We are going to start the Housing programme any moment from now. We are going to start where the land is available for us before covering other zones. Leaders in Imo North have shown that they are ready and Imo housing scheme is set to kick off from their zone”. The commissioner for Housing in Imo State, Mrs Love Ine, praised the vision of the governor and readiness of the monarchs in Imo North to partner with the state government.  While labelling the program people’s oriented, the commissioner assured that the government will put the lands into meaningful use.

The Commissioner for Lands, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu noted that the lands allotted to the state government by the traditional rulers have spared the state government of the struggle of acquiring lands for such developmental project. He said the purpose was to take development to the rural areas in the state.
