
Nigeria on Thursday recorded 182 new cases of the COVID-19, the total new cases now 8,915. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its twitter handle, said that as of May 28, 2020, fatalities have reached 259, which means that 5 deaths were recorded in the country.
The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has moved to relax the lockdown in the state.He said, with effect from June 1,residents are free to move around in the state,but with some restrictions mostly Saturdays and Sundays.
The Kogi State Government led by Governor Yahaya Bello, has rejected the report of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) that two cases of COVID-19 were recorded within the state. Speaking on the alleged report via a statement on Wednesday, Saka Haruna Audu, Kogi State health commissioner, said the state government has developed “full testing capacity” and “conducted hundreds of tests” which have all come back negative. In the statement, Audu said the state would not be a party “to any fictitious COVID-19 claims”
