


Imo state Committee on Corona Virus (COVID-19) on sunday night commenced fumigation of markets and public infrastructures across the state. According to the statement issued last night by a member of the Committee, the fumigation takes place between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. “Fumigation is slated to begin across all the senatorial districts.The newly inaugurated IMC Chairmen of the various local governments are to set up their own taskforce committees in accordance with his excellency directives,there will be no space for coronavirus in the state,infact not only coronavirus,any virus,reason for what you are witnessing here. Imo is already in safe position under this present government led by His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, “The fumigation exercise will extend to other parts of the state tomorrow Monday,we are moving to Orlu and later Okigwe. It is part of the government’s holistic approach to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Imo State and keep the people safe. The government, meanwhile, has commended corporate organisations and private individuals who have also donated to the humanitarian cause — apart from the donors that had earlier been acknowledged. It said,”The government hereby expresses its appreciation to various organisations and individuals who continue to donate to the efforts to keep Imo people safe. Specifically, we commend media,the security agencies and our people for complying with the government directives over the lockdown. “The government is definitely impressed by this rare show of altruism, and is confident of lifting the ban on lockdown soonest” It went ahead to encourage ndi-Imo to continue to be their brothers-keeper during this difficult period.On palliatives measures the government reassured the people of all the efforts government is making to make sure the vulnerable get them and urged the people to always ensure social distancing and temperature measurement of beneficiaries, among other safety protocols,whenever these palliatives are to be distributed.
